Saturday 1st March 2025 / High Street

Southend High Street is set to come alive with a celebration of our city’s heritage, culture, and community spirit!

Enjoy live performances, roaming entertainment, and activities for all ages, alongside a tempting selection of food and drink. From music and dance to creative displays and local talent, there’s something for everyone to enjoy as we come together to celebrate everything that makes Southend special.

 

Southend City Stage

Disco City

@ Top of the High Street, SS1 1TJ

As night falls, the Southend City Stage transforms into Disco City! A giant 2-metre disco ball, synchronized Xylobands, and a high-energy DJ set from Essex’s very own Denise Van Outen will get the party started!

Southend City Jam Zone

@ The Deeping / 2-4 Southchurch Rd, SS2 5SR

Watch creativity unfold in real time as over 30 talented artists transform the streets with incredible live street art! The Southend City Jam Zone will be a hub of colour, expression, and talent, showcasing a mix of styles and techniques from both local and visiting artists. Whether you’re a street art enthusiast or just love seeing creativity in action, this is a must-see part of the event.

The Victoria Centre

Southend City Day Artist 2025

@ Various venues around the City Centre 

Join us for a live outdoor painting event as part of Southend City Day, led by local artist Andy Downes. Artists of all ages and backgrounds are invited to head out during the event and capture a part of the day’s activities on canvas, and the resulting artworks will be on display in the Royals Shopping Centre. This event will be judged by Wendy Scotland, director of Leigh Art Trail.

Visit Royal Square (outside The Royals Shopping Centre) and enjoy live performances from talented local songwriters, sharing their original music. This stage celebrates creativity and showcases a mix of styles and sounds from Southend’s music scene. Whether you’re a fan of live music or just passing by, take a moment to listen and support homegrown talent.

Starting at 11am with performances throughout the day until 5:50pm!

Window Wanderland

This captivating community art project invites Southend’s residents to be a part of transforming our city into a spectacular outdoor art gallery.

The idea behind it is simple, all you need to do to get involved is decorate your street-facing windows!

This year’s theme is to show your ‘Pride in Southend’ and create a window that reflects what you love most about Southend to celebrate our upcoming City Day on Saturday 1 March.
