Maunsell Forts Tour
Take a cruise from Southend Pier to the Eerie World War 2 Maunsell forts, called the Red sand Towers.
Take a three-hour cruise from Southend Pier to the Eerie World War 2 Maunsel Forts, called the Red Sand Towers.
These historic monuments stand in the estuary some 9 miles from Southend and 5 miles from Whitstable. It will take approximately an hour to reach the Towers and will pass by the Mulbury Harbour (Pheonix unit) and Shoebury Boom before crossing the shipping channel towards the Isle of Sheppey.
You will get a chance to take plenty of photos in and around the towers as our vessel is small enough to pass between and under the structures. (We do not allow anyone to board the structures)
If you’re an avid photographer, grab your long lenses to see if you can snap photos of the Peregrine Falcons.
Upon our return, we will pass via the SS. Richard Montgomery before crossing back towards Southend Pier.
This cruise last for 3 Hours and is available to book on various dates.
Army Fort Experience
Take a cruise from Southend Pier to the eerie World War 2 Maunsel Forts, called the Red Sand Towers and venture further out to the Shivering Sand Towers.
This five hour cruise from Southend Pier takes you out into the estuary to experience both the site of the Redsand Towers, Shivering Sand Towers and passes over the original site of the Nore Sand Towers.
These historic monuments stand in the estuary some 9-13 miles from Southend and 5 miles from Whitstable and will take approximately an hour to reach the first set of Towers. You will pass by the Mulbury Harbour (Phoenix unit) and Shoebury Boom before crossing the shipping channel towards the Isle of Sheppey. Having spent approximately 15-20 minutes at the Redsand towers your trip will continue further out into the estuary to experience the Shivering Sand Towers.
You will get a chance to take plenty of photos around both sets of towers as we circle the forts from a safe distance. Our spacious top deck you will get unrivalled views of Guy Maunsell’s masterpieces.
(Please note: We get close to the structures but we do not go alongside them or allow anyone to board the structures)

Onboard facilities include a Bar, selling soft drinks and light snacks. A small Toilet is also available onboard.

Lunch in Kent
Take a trip to a lovely fishing village in Kent!
Take a trip across to Queenborough to explore a quiant fishing village in Kent. You will be given time ashore to have a spot of lunch and take a wander. (Lunch not included)
Departing Southend, your boat trip will take 45 minutes to reach the pier in Kent. The crossing is fully commentated with information about the history of the Thames, Medway and Swale.
Passing close by Sheerness Docks, the captain will be able to tell you all about the various cargos that are handled here before breaking away from the main channel and arriving at Queenborough.
Upon arrival you will have up to 4 hours ashore to explore to village and the various eateries. Take a stroll to see the old castle grounds, the fishing harbour or venture further afield to Sheerness-on-sea and the Queenborough lines.
