Choose Your Own Adventure Story Coding Workshop

A 6-session workshop for children aged 8 – 14 to make their own interactive Choose Your Own Adventure Story!

The sessions will use the coding software Twine to teach children how to make their own Interactive Fiction. Each session will teach them a new skill to help develop their stories into fun and exciting adventures.

Led by experienced members of staff, children will be given specialised resources to assist them and to help develop their skills further following the completion of the workshops.

All 6 sessions will cost £15.00 (equipment provided).

No previous coding experience is necessary.

Tuesday 6th August – Session 1: Introduction to Twine and what is Interactive Fiction?
Friday 9th August – Session 2: Creating your Story: finding your story path.
Tuesday 13th August – Session 3: Images and Aesthetics: how to make your story look good!
Friday 16th August – Session 4: Let’s Look at Macros: how to use code to make your story fun!
Tuesday 20th August – Session 5: Tidying up: putting the finishing touches on your story (a chance to refresh on any skills learnt)
Friday 23rd August – Session 6: Let’s read some stories! A chance to present your finished story and play with others. (Parents attendance encouraged).
