‘Eloquent trumpet soloist’ – The Times, 2021
‘Spell-binding’ – The Daily Telegraph
Britten Sinfonia is famed for the quality of its performances and breaks the mould by not having a principal conductor or director, instead choosing to collaborate with a range of the finest international guest artists from across the musical spectrum. The musicians comprise some of the UK’s finest soloists and chamber musicians whose virtuosity and musicianship are second to none.
Matilda Lloyd is a fast-rising young artist with exceptional poise and musicality. After winning First Prize in the Eric Aubier International Trumpet Competition in Rouen, France in 2017, Matilda has appeared as a soloist all over the world. She made her BBC Proms debut in 2016 with the BBC Philharmonic and Alpesh Chauhan.
