Managing Mum Guilt – A morning of conversation

10.00 am to 12.00 pm

Pre-booking required. Taking place as part of the A Better Start Southend Festival of Conversations taking place across Southend from 12-26 October for families with children up to 4-years-old, and early years’ professionals.

‘Families Growing Together’, will host this conversation for mums, discussing how they may experience ‘Mum-Guilt’ and how it impacts their lives and their role as a parent.

We aim to provide tips on how to overcome ‘Mum-guilt’ and to inspire kindness in oneself through being kind, compassionate and supportive to others. We will provide a welcoming and supportive space, to share the type of feelings that surround, ‘Mum-guilt’, and utilise peer support to overcome the negative emotions that come with prioritising your own needs.

This relaxed workshop will allow us to open up, discuss the sometimes, unhelpful messages we receive from the media and see if we can flip that narrative, speak more positively to ourselves, celebrate small wins and start to emulate the adult we would like our child to become. Enjoy the creche, refreshments, accessible parking and baby changing facilities.

Creche facilities on offer. This session is open to all Southend families with children under 4 years old. Pre-registration is required. Accessible parking, toilet and baby changing facilities are available. Please don’t forget to pre-register for this session.

Please note all Festival of Conversations may have a photographer and videographer present to capture the session. There will be an option to opt out of any media consent upon arrival at the session.
