Relay 2025 Round 2

Focal Point Gallery is pleased to announce the Round 2 of the 2025 edition of Relay with Alastair Johnson and Özlem Simsek, Esme Keenleyside and Sue Lesser. Each Southend-based creative was invited to share artwork, research, or work in progress in the form of a one-minute video, which will be screened on Big Screen Southend and featured on our website and social media platforms for three and half weeks. Each participant was asked to nominate another local practitioner to feature in the programme, concluding after three rounds. Relay coincides with the run of this year’s ‘S for Southend’, our annual exhibition showcasing local residents’ artwork created across our learning programmes.

‘Relay’ was launched as a new initiative during lockdown 3.0 as a paid opportunity to support local creatives by showcasing their practice across the Gallery’s digital platforms.
