Join Focal Point Gallery for a FREE Summer Creative Open Day!
11am to 3pm on Saturday 4th June
On the occasion of the special bank holiday to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, join us at Focal Point Gallery to explore your creativity in a fun, interactive workshop looking at spray-can art with artist Scotty Brave! Taking place just outside the gallery on Elmer Square, collaborate with Scotty to create an open mural that the city will be proud to display!
Scotty Brave is a spray-can-artist, often referred to as a street artist or graffiti artist. Scott has been a consistently active contributor to the Street Art / Graffiti art scene for over 20 years. Graduating from university in London in the 90’s with a Graphic Design degree, by his late teens he had become known nationally for his spray-can art. After training as a youth worker, he ran hundreds of spray-can art workshops and events for schools and youth-clubs, secure-units and PRUs. Scott successfully pioneered teaching spray-can-art and graffiti culture within education.
In addition, inside the gallery Courtney Whelan will be leading a stencilling workshop! Create amazing images using our pre-cut stencils! No previous experience of any artistic medium is needed; just a sense of curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
All ages, abilities and backgrounds are welcome in this FREE Creative Open Day!
Please note: Children under 12 MUST be accompanied by an adult during the spray-painting portion of the session. This is a graffiti workshop and therefore spray-paint will be used. It is advised that you wear old clothes that you don’t mind potentially getting a little messy! This is a weather dependent workshop. Should the weather become too windy to operate, in the most extreme circumstances, we will be forced to cancel. If this should be the case, we will endeavour to contact everyone before the workshop to notify. The indoor stencilling workshop will still go ahead.
Please book your place through our Eventbrite
