Focal Point Gallery are thrilled to invite you to “Sweeping Performances: The Art of Domestic Chores,” a playful workshop led by artist Kelly O’Brien open to all ages and abilities.
Dive into the performance of cleaning work, domestic labour, and hidden gestures, to discover a fresh perspective on these often-overlooked aspects of daily life.
This unique workshop will highlight the artistic and performative elements of everyday chores, transforming mundane tasks into expressive acts. Join Kelly in a ‘studio in situ’ at Focal Point Gallery and express your thoughts and feelings (be it love or hate) about cleaning, visually articulating your opinions through creating photography and experimental portraiture.
Special Instructions: Cleaning tools and the necessary materials will be provided. However, please feel free to bring your own cleaning tools from home to use as artistic props, whether it’s an old mop head or your favourite feather duster!
