Taking place as part of the A Better Start Southend Festival of Conversations taking place across Southend from 12-26 October for families with children up to 4-years-old, and early years’ professionals.
To promote the love of storytelling and to encourage a shared story experience across Southend’s early years’ providers, join your little one (under 4s) in this Festival of Conversations storytelling event, celebrating the importance of chatter and communication.
Throughout the week of 17 -21 October, your little ones are invited to take part in A Better Start Southend’s (ABSS) Chat-a-long Read-a-thon where they can share in the wonder of the book, ‘The Bear Who Stared’ by Duncan Beedie. Early Years settings, Libraries, Family Centres and various stay-and-play events across Southend will be celebrating this lovely book which helps a bear to communicate with his friends.
So will Jacqson Diego! The entire family can enjoy this session of read-along and storytelling. Your little ones love nothing more than engaging in these activities with you. Children’s brains are a lot like ropes, they are made of many different strands. These strands are how they learn to talk, how they feel, and how they make friends. Every time you talk to a child or respond to them, you are helping these strands grow strong. And the stronger each strand is, the stronger their brain will be overall!
Accessible parking nearby, please note that there is no step-free access from the pavement to the venue. This session is open to all Southend families with children under 4 years old. Please don’t forget to pre-register for this session.
Please note all Festival of Conversations may have a photographer and videographer present to capture the session. There will be an option to opt out of any media consent upon arrival at the session
